Radisson Blu Hotel hosts 60-sec elevator pitch contest for entrepreneursMay 23, 2019
NAIROBI, Kenya, Oct 12 – Raddison Blu Nairobi is hosting an entrepreneurs’ elevator contest where nine contestants are pitching their business ideas to a panel for a chance to get funding and mentorship.
According to Radisson Blu General Manager Ian Rydin, the contestants have 60 seconds to pitch their idea, which is the same time it takes to travel up to the eighth floor and back in the hotel’s elevator.
“We received really strong entries, and the nine finalists were chosen based on the 500-word pitches they were asked to submit,” said Rydin.
Along with Rydin, the other mentors to whom the contestants will be pitching are former TV star/producer and fashion entrepreneur Diana Opoti , and retail and business entrepreneur Trushar Khetia.
“Having myself encountered the trials of self-starting a business, I believe the Radisson Blu Hotel Nairobi Upper Hill elevator pitch contest is an incredible way to fast-track the dreams of nine young Kenyans. I owe my own success to great business mentors and in this way I can give back,” said Opoti
Trushar Khetia – founder, chairman and CEO of the Tria Group of companies – says he is looking for dedicated, passionate and committed contestants.
“Sixty seconds is not a long time to pitch an idea, but a great idea often takes no longer than a few seconds to grab someone’s attention.”
