Changes at KPA as 16 senior officials affectedMay 21, 2019
MOMBASA, Kenya, May 15 – Barely a month after Kenya Ports Authority officials were grilled over the alleged irregular awarding of tenders for the Sh40 billion Kipevu Oil Terminal, changes have been made affecting 16 managerial positions.
The Head of Procurement, Anthony Nyamanch, has been transferred to Kampala, Uganda as the new Head of Liaison Markets.
His position has been taken over by Adza Dzengo acting capacity.
KPA Head of Security, Mariam Khamis, has been transferred to Nairobi Inland Container Depot as Head of ICT (Information, Communication and Technology).
Her position will now be held by Tony Kibwana in acting capacity.
In a phone interview, KPA Managing Director Daniel Manduku confirmed the changes.
However, he said he was in a meeting and would call back to share more details on the same.
“I will get back to you in a few. I’m in a middle of a meeting” he said on phone.
The changes have seen fresh appointments.
William Tenay has been appointed the Head of Project Development at KPA, Engineer Kennedy Nyaga as the Lamu Port Project Manager and Peter Masinde as the Head of Inland Container Depot.
Moses Sirgoi is the new acting Principal Procurement Officer (Tenders), Joseph Okhako Principal Officer ICD Kisumu whereas Millicent Omollo is now the acting Head of Audit and Risk.
Fredrick Oyugi is the Head of Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) Reconciliation at ICD Nairobi and Onsesmus Ngumbao the acting Head of Management Accounting while Erick Kotut will take over as he Head of Ethics in acting capacity.
Ali Mwinjika is the new Principal Procurement Officer (Purchasing and Contracts) and Eveline Shigoli has been seconded to be the Principal Officer at Kenya Coast Guard Service.
John Nyamosi will be redeployed. His position has not been confirmed.
